SQL to HQL slides from Scotch on the Rocks

May 31, 2010

I've uploaded the slides from my Scotch on the Rocks presentation on SQL to HQL. Although I've gone for a "presentation zen" style, I've added quite a few notes for the slides and attached sample code so I hope it is useful!

To get the attached code, or view the notes, then please click on the "show menu" button in the slidesix player. From there you can download the code as a zip file by clicking on the paperclip. Some of the examples will throw errors - this is on purpose to demonstrate case-sensitivity and other issues :)

  1. Thanks, but what's the use of the slide without audio?

  3. @Kevin, I was asked to publish the code and slides by people who attended the presentation. The slides do have notes and there are code samples as well, so whilst I agree that audio would be best, please understand that these slides are intended to accompany a 1 hour in-person presentation :)

@Henry, if you click on the "show menu" button you can download the samples by clicking on the paperclip. I've updated the post to make that clearer :) Some of the code samples will through errors to demonstrate some common "gotchas". I hope it's useful.

  4. Your code and slides have helped me get a better grasp on this new CF9 feature. Thanks for sharing.
