FAQU Volume 3 Issue 1 Out Now!

November 14, 2008

Hot off the presses is the latest edition of Fusion Authority Quarterly Update (FAQU). I've just downloaded my PDF copy and had a virtual flick through. Articles which stand out for me (and I could just list them all!) are:

Peter Bell on The Data Mapper - An Alternative to an ORM

As usual with Peter's stuff it will probably go way over my head the first 3 times I read it, then it will slowly sink in!

John Mason on BlazeDS

BlazeDS is something that I've played with but there isn't really any good walk-through guides out there, so this is great for filling in the gaps and getting the best from BlazeDS.

Mike Henke on Turbo Charging Eclipse

I've switched to Dreamweaver CS4 recently as Eclipse was just becoming too slow and unstable so hopefully this article will solve my frustrations

Nathan Mische on Web Services and Complex Types

Having fought complex webservice integration with an application running on ColdFusion MX 6.1, I'll probably read this and go "if only I'd had CF8 back then".

In addition to these articles you've also got articles from luminaries (and I mean that) such as Ben Nadel, Charlie Arehart, Doug Hughes, Michael Dinowitz, Tom de Manincor, C. Hatton Humphrey & François Lévesque.

Anyway head over to the site and see what's covered and then look at the price - pretty good value I think you'll find.

  4. Hi Peter,

Thanks for the offer :) I hope you don't think I was critising your articles - they are great! You tend to approach things from a different perspective to how I would. When I read your articles, I get the concept, then I read it several more times so that I can think about the pros and cons and how I could use it. Also by reading it more than once - I get extra value for money!
